Mrs Judi McIntosh is founder and CEO of Swimsational Swim School, LLC. She has over 30 years experience in teaching children of all
ages and adults to swim. She was a guest speaker at the World Aquatic Babies Congress Biennial Conference in 2011. Mrs McIntosh is
American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified, American Red Cross Certified Water Instructor for all ages and levels, USA Certified
through WABC approved courses. She is a member in good standing of U S Swim School Assn, American Red Cross, World Aquatic
Babies Congress, International Swim Instructors Association, National Drowning Prevention Alliance, and supports the Safer Three
Judi grew up swimming in Brazil Indiana where water temperatures in June were COLD to say the least! Even then, she dreamed about
the what-if's of teaching swimming in a totally enclosed structure....She knew if she could just warm up the water and shelter the kids
from blazing sun and rain outs, she could do this all year and this kids would love swimming even more! Little did she know that reality
was in the making in other parts of the world! Her history includes teaching swimming for the City Pool in Brazil in the mornings during
summer months from age 14 forward and full time lifeguard for several years. Judi married, started a family and moved with her
husband Bill and 2 children in 1976 to Vinton, La where they have resided in Vinton and nearby rural areas since. She resumed teaching
after the birth of her third child in 1980. She taught backyard swim lessons for years and taught one of the first mommy and me classes in
this area in 1983. It has been a long love story of teaching 1000's and 1000's of kids to swim over the years and she still teaches. Her
days are filled mostly with running the business aspects of a swim school and training others to do what she does best, teaching kids to
love the sport of swimming through her gentle methods and WARM WATER.
What makes us different? CONSISTENT TEACHING METHODS IS THE KEY TO A "SAFE" AND "SUCCESSFUL" TEACHING PROGRAM IS UNDERSTANDING CHILDREN'S
FEARS AND A TRUE LOVE FOR CHILDREN . WE DO NOT EXPERIMENT WITH STUDENTS... we use only proven acceptable methods of teaching presented in a WARM WATER
setting (90-92 DEGREES) and babies are taught in the gentle hands of their parents and or teachers. DROWNING IS PREVENTABLE. Start with swim lessons, it is
proven that swim lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88%!
REALIZE THAT NO CHILD IS EVER "DROWN PROOF", never assume a child is safe. Use constant supervision when in or near the water.
